The 16th Belgrade International Book Festival was the environment chosen to celebrate our LIT-UP authors and editors B2B meetings, among other international activities.
From June 21st to 23rd, 2024, authors and editors from LIT-UP project partners gathered at the Krokodil Festival in Belgrade to support this market of minority languages.
LIT-UP facilitated valuable B2B meetings on Friday, June 21st, offering a dedicated space for them to connect and explore market opportunities. This facilitated networking helped bridge the gap between creators and publishers, potentially fostering future collaborations and publications.
Beyond the Meetings: A Festival Filled with Literary Delights
The festival offered a diverse program featuring authors like Nađa Petrović, Andriy Lyubka, and Hassan Blasim. One-on-one author interviews, film screenings, and lively discussions kept the loop at the Festival. Workshops for both adults and children added a playful dimension to the festival, encouraging creative expression and storytelling for all ages.
Internal Project Discussions for Growth
While authors and publishers networked, LIT-UP project leaders took advantage of the festival’s setting to hold internal work package meetings. These discussions likely focused on project progress, future strategies, and identifying ways to empower further authors and publishers working with minority languages.
LIT-UP’s Contribution
The LIT-UP project’s presence at the Belgrade International Book Festival underscores its commitment to fostering a vibrant literary landscape for minority languages. By facilitating connections and fostering growth within the project itself, LIT-UP is paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse global publishing industry.
